Student movement in 2006, Chile.
Introduction
In
April 2006 and in the context of the first government of Michelle Bachelet, two
events happened that triggered later a series of revolts that have continuity
and consequences until today: a rise in the value of the university selection
test and restricting the use of the school pass to only twice a day. Although
these two events were the triggers of the beginning of the movement, the
long-term objectives were to reform The Constitutional Organization Act on
Education, which in those years still continued to be governed by what was
imposed during the dictatorship.
Due
to this discontent, different assemblies began to be organized throughout the
country, it caused many protests, marches,
walkouts and sit-ins, there were more than 400 educational establishments
paralyzed[1].
The student movement occurred in
Chile in 2006, put education in the center of discussion and triggered later many
manifestations and achieves for example the fact of being able today to think about
an education of quality and free.
