Unemployment rate in Chile

The graph shows the rate of unemployment in Chile between the months October 2017 and July 2018. In October of 2017, unemployment was 6.7. This number decreased slightly to 6.5 in November and continued to decrease in December with a rate of 6.4 in unemployment. In contrast with 2017, in the year 2018 unemployment increased more steeply, from January 2018 to September 2018 unemployment increased 0.6% and instead of 2017 unemployment only decreased. The peak of unemployment was in July and August 2018, with a 7.3% and the largest increase of unemployment was throughout the period April-May 2018 with a 0.3%.  In conclusion, we can predict that if the public politics around the economy do not change, the unemployment rate probably continues increasing, although the rate of unemployment in the last two months decreased in 0.2%.

Student movement in 2006, Chile.

Introduction In April 2006 and in the context of the first government of Michelle Bachelet, two events happened that triggered later a series of revolts that have continuity and consequences until today: a rise in the value of the university selection test and restricting the use of the school pass to only twice a day. Although these two events were the triggers of the beginning of the movement, the long-term objectives were to reform The Constitutional Organization Act on Education, which in those years still continued to be governed by what was imposed during the dictatorship. Due to this discontent, different assemblies began to be organized throughout the country, it caused many protests, marches, walkouts and sit-ins, there were more than 400 educational establishments paralyzed [1] .
